Sunday 5 February

  • Moderator | Pray for the Moderator as he commences his tour of Dublin & Munster Presbytery. Pray for travelling mercies and that he will bring both the encouragement and challenge of the gospel in the numerous meetings and services in which he will participate.
  • Worship: Desiring God’s presence | ‘Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you!’ Isaiah 64:1. Ask for a real and meaningful sense of God’s presence in worship today.

Monday 6 February

  • Edwin and Anne Kibathi (global mission workers, England) | Pray for Rev Edwin Kibathi as he provides oversight and training for the leadership in PCEA UK Outreach, and as he travels to Kenya for a conference in mid-February.
  • Middle East | Pray for National Evangelical Synod of Syria & Lebanon, especially the pastors of the Presbyterian congregations in Syria, that they would know resilience and fruitfulness in the face of so many challenges.

Tuesday 7 February

  • Rachel Cubitt (deaconess in Whiteabbey) | Give thanks for Girls Association, Friendship Hour and Kids & Co, and all the leaders. Please pray that God will continue to guide them and draw the girls, older ladies, parents and children to love and trust in him.
  • Maynooth | Pray for the new Alpha Course that starts on 9 February and for all who will be involved. Pray also for Maynooth’s new church building project, giving thanks that the developer will be coming on site on 14 February.

Wednesday 8 February

  • Csaba and Ilona Veres (global mission workers, Romania) | Pray that Csaba & Ilona will know God’s guidance & encouragement in their work, including ministry to Ukrainian refugees through their home congregation in Cluj.
  • Zambia | Pray for Rev Sevatt Kabaghe currently serving his final term as General Secretary of CCAP Zambia Synod, that he would know the Lord’s wisdom and guidance both now and as he looks to the future.

Thursday 9 February

  • Ben Day (community outreach worker in Kilbride) | Pray for Ben who began his role in December 2022, that he would develop partnerships with local community and parachurch organisations and that this would enable good relationships to form.
  • Naas | Thank the Lord for blessing Naas congregation with growth, both numerical and in spiritual maturity. Ask the Lord to guide the congregation in their upcoming Eldership election. Pray that God’s Word will impact the lives of each person who attends.

Friday 10 February

  • Social Witness | Pray for Wendy Kelly as she seeks to raise the profile of the Council for Social Witness by going into schools and colleges to promote a career in caring. Give thanks for Wendy’s drive and enthusiasm in this task. Give thanks for the recently attended Careers Fair at Wellington College, Belfast. Pray that God will move in the lives of these young people and shape their future careers and vocations. Pray that this initiative will increase CSW’s recruitment of staff in the future.
  • Palliative Care | Give thanks for medical staff who help people to manage serious illness and care for those coming to the end of their life. Pray that they would be able to respond effectively and compassionately to ease pain and suffering. Pray too that this service would be resourced sufficiently to meet demand.

Saturday 11 February

  • General Council | Pray for the newly elected Moderator-Designate as he prepares for his year in office. Pray for his family and his congregation as he gets ready to assume new responsibilities and develops priorities and a theme for the year.
  • Training in Ministry | Around the time that voting takes place for the Moderator of the Assembly, the Moderator of each Presbytery also changes. Presbytery moderators chair meetings, lead services and help pastor ministers. A training day for new presbytery moderators took place on Wednesday 8 February. Pray for new presbytery moderators and the presbytery clerks they work alongside.
