Sunday 31 January

  • Moderator | Pray for the Moderator as he seeks to give a lead to the Church at the start of 2021, and for plans being put in place for the General Assembly later this year and also as he seeks to provide encouragement and pastoral care for PCI’s ministers.
  • Grace in worship | Today as we worship, ask God to appreciate his grace afresh, forgiving all our sins, sufficient for all our needs.

Monday 1 February

  • Naomi Leremore (global mission worker, Kenya) | Pray for Naomi as she works in the Theological Education by Extension team, writing materials for publication. Pray for the ministry to grow and flourish in 2021. Pray too for protection for the people of Kenya during the pandemic, and for the Leremore family.
  • Nepal | Pray for United Mission to Nepal as it works hard to conclude its new General Agreement with the government of Nepal, including obtaining all necessary work permits for both expats and Nepali employees.

Tuesday 2 February

  • Dave Gray (chaplain in Derryvolgie and Queens’ University, Belfast) | Pray for university students struggling when in isolation, for international students, & for the many students struggling with screen fatigue. Pray too for Christian students as they meet for fellowship online & seek opportunities to reach out to others.
  • Christ Church, Limerick | Pray for this joint Presbyterian and Methodist congregation, for unity and strength during Covid-19 restrictions. Pray too for Rev Stephen Hancock as he settles into ministry there.

Wednesday 3 February

  • Derek & Jane French (global mission workers, Spain) | Pray for Derek as he recovers from a recent operation and for the whole French family. Continue to pray for GBU student ministry, for students meeting online, and for Bilbao International Church which Derek and Jane are involved in.
  • Brazil | Pray for the people of Brazil who are suffering greatly from Covid-19. Pray for the witness of the Presbyterian Church of Brazil, that leaders and members will bring God’s comfort and strength to many.

Thursday 4 February

  • Heather McCracken (deaconess) | Pray for Heather as she serves in chaplaincy in hospitals in the Belfast Trust, for her health, safety, wisdom, strength and endurance. Pray for all those ill in hospital, for full and quick recovery, and remember their families. Pray too for staff working in very challenging conditions.
  • Ballmagrane Presbyterian Church | Give thanks for the congregation’s witness through their food bank with Aughnacloy PC. Pray that livestreamed services will encourage the congregation, new Christians and others.

Friday 5 February

  • Social Witness | Pray for the Senior Team as they manage the continuing Covid-19 Crisis: Lindsay Conway (Director of Social Services), Denise Keegan (Disability Services), Jacqui Devlin-Montgomery (Safeguarding), Caroline Yeomans (Disability), Laura Kelly (Personnel) & David Hooks (Finance Manager). Give thanks for the additional support and resources coming from the Department of Health and the Health & Social Care Trusts.
  • Business | Pray for business owners and self-employed who continue to face uncertainty due to the extended restrictions, that they would continue to know God’s peace, protection and guidance at this unsettling time.

Saturday 6 February

  • General Council | Pray for all those who are convening Councils, Committees, Panels and Task Groups, as they seek to further the work of PCI under the current restrictions.  Pray that the work of these bodies will continue to have a positive impact on the life of the Church.
  • Training in Ministry | PCI’s Conciliation Service is available to help congregations and individuals in situations of friction and conflict. Pray that ministers and individuals would make use of the service, especially that they would contact it early, before difficult situations escalate.
