- Moderator | Pray for the Moderator as he conducts a service today at Lowe Memorial to open officially the new sanctuary at the church. Give thanks that the work has been completed and that the new building will be a blessing to both the church and surrounding community.
- Worship: With Easter in sight | Ask that God would help us find fresh hope and joy in him as we worship in the run up to another Easter time.
Monday 4 April
- Chris & Rachel Humphries (global mission workers, Portugal) | Pray for members of Comunidade Pedras Vivas as they invite others to the Good Friday service on 16 April and to the showing of the film ‘The Case for Christ’ on 17 April. Pray for a softening of hearts and for the light of Christ to shine during this Easter season.
- Myanmar | Pray for God’s blessing on the leaders and members of the Presbyterian Church of Myanmar as they continue to worship God and witness to others. Pray for the establishment of a democratic, just and fair government in Myanmar.
Tuesday 5 April
- David Boyd (Irish mission worker in Adelaide Road, Dublin) | Adelaide Road congregation has registered as a Community Hub for Ukrainian refugees. Pray that they will be able to offer effective help and support to many. Pray too that the surge in Covid-19 infections will not derail plans to resume ministries halted by the pandemic.
- Maynooth (Co Kildare) | Pray for the leaders and members of the congregation and that they will take opportunities to share the good news this Easter season. Pray for continued progress on the congregation’s new building project.
Wednesday 6 April
- Peter & Jayne Fleming (global mission workers, Nepal) | Pray for Peter in his work in integral development with United Mission to Nepal and in the coming weeks as he orients and supports new colleagues. Pray for Jayne working at Kathmandu International Study Centre. Pray too that their work visas will soon be issued.
- United Mission to Nepal | Pray for United Mission to Nepal (UMN); seeking to serve the people of Nepal, particularly those living in poverty. Pray for UMN’s work in the areas of education, healthcare, livelihoods, disaster response, integral development and peacebuilding.
Thursday 7 April
- Rev. John Coulter (chaplain, Ulster University, Coleraine) | Pray for John as he seeks to reconnect with students and staff after the disruption caused by Covid-19. Pray for continuing opportunities to support the Christian Union and its committee. Pray for evangelistic opportunities with students and staff.
- Naas (Co Kildare) | Give thanks for growing attendances at Sunday worship, & for the desire by many to grow in their Christian faith & service. Pray that our love for Jesus and for people will lead to increasing gospel outreach.
Friday 8 April
- Social Witness | Pray for David Hooks, Finance Manager of the Council for Social Witness, as he recovers from a recent fall. Give thanks that the right help was on hand very quickly for David and that he is now at home recovering after some time in hospital. Pray that God will draw alongside David and enable him to rest and recuperate with the help of his family and friends.
- Hospitality Industry | Give thanks for opportunities to enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal with friends and family in the many establishments across the island of Ireland. Pray for the safety of those working in the food and hospitality industries, and for business owners as they balance rising costs and challenges in recruiting staff.
Saturday 9 April
- General Council | Pray for the meeting of the General Council on 13 April which will receive final significant reports to go to General Assembly, including recommendations relating to the United Appeal.
- Training in Ministry | Final interviews for ministry applicants take place on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 April, with five applicants being interviewed. Pray for applicants and interview panel members, that they will have wisdom and discernment from God, to know his will for each applicant.
