  • Answering God’s invitation to worship | Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest’. Matthew 11:28. Ask God to help us come just as we are to him in worship and find his rest and peace in believing.

Monday 29 May

  • Steve and Rosie Kennedy (global mission workers, Romania) | Pray for the coordination and administration of ongoing work amongst Ukrainian refugees and for Spirit-led preparations for a range of summer activities.
  • Presbyterian Church of Myanmar (PCM), Myanmar | Pray for PCM families who have experienced loss of loved ones, injury and destruction of property due to airstrikes on their village earlier this month.

Tuesday 30 May

  • Rev Nigel Craig, chaplain at Queen’s University, Stranmillis and Union Theological College | Give thanks for the unity of the new PCI chaplaincy team; and for the many opportunities they have had to serve students and staff at Derryvolgie Hall and on campus this past year. Pray the team might be refreshed over the summer, and guided by the Lord for the new semester in September.
  • Irvinestown, Pettigo and Tempo | Pray for Rev Günther Andrich and the members of the congregations; that they would know the Lord’s equipping and guiding for each of the activities that the congregations are involved in which seek to be a witness to those in the surrounding communities.

Wednesday 31 May

  • Stephen and Angelina Cowan (global mission workers, Kenya) | Give thanks for rainfall in Tuum and the wider area. Pray that the seed of God’s Word sown at the recent Senior Camp will result in much fruitfulness.
  • Ukraine | Pray for fresh resolve to find a diplomatic solution to the war and remember the ongoing work of Christian Aid, Tearfund, Hungarian Reformed Church Aid and all those caring for refugees and the displaced.

Thursday 1 June

  • Rick Hill, Council for Mission in Ireland Secretary | Give thanks for the relationships that have been formed in recent months with those who serve in mission in Ireland and with those who partner with PCI in this work. Pray for Rick as he travels throughout the island of Ireland meeting and encouraging ministers and mission workers.
  • Kells, Co Meath | Pray for the congregation as it meets faithfully each week, that they would know the Lord’s blessing and presence among them and that they would grow deeper in fellowship with the Lord Jesus.

Friday 2 June

  • Cost of Living | The cost of living continues to rise. Pray that those on low incomes who are trapped in debt, food and fuel poverty may find the support they need. Pray that we will continue to respond generously to food banks and appeals from charities. Give thanks for Christian organisations who assist those struggling and in need.
  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) | Pray for school leaders, teachers, assistants and support staff in Special Schools as they seek to provide opportunities for pupils to flourish and thrive. Pray too for families, many of whom have had compounded challenges arising from budgetary cuts relating to health, education and community services.

Saturday 3 June

  • General Council | Pray for the conference of the Methodists as it meets in Assembly Buildings, beginning on Thursday 8 June. Remember especially the General Secretary, Rev Dr Heather Morris, and all of her team as last minute preparations are made.
  • Training in Ministry | Graduation at Union College takes place on Friday 9 June. Give thanks for the Lord’s blessing upon students and staff during the past academic year, and pray for third year ministry students as they begin their full-time congregational training.
