Sunday 4 February

  • Moderator | Sunday marks the start of a week-long tour of Templepatrick Presbytery. Pray for Sam and Karen as they engage in Church and public square visits, that pastoral and missional opportunities would be fruitful.
  • Worship: Desiring God’s presence | “Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you!” Isaiah 64:1. Ask for a real and meaningful sense of God’s presence in worship today.

Monday 5 February

  • Naomi Keefe, global mission worker, Brazil | Give thanks for encouraging training sessions with the leaders, teachers and volunteers in both Beberibe and Peixinhos. Pray for the planning and preparation of various evangelistic events in the communities over the Easter period.
  • Grupos Biblicos Unidos (GBU) | Pray for the leadership of GBU as they seek to reach non-Christian students with the gospel and develop Christian leaders who will contribute to the growth and development of evangelical churches in Spain. Pray that they would know God’s will and guiding through all that they do.

Tuesday 6 February

  • Rosemary Spiers, deaconess, Greenwell Street Newtownards | Pray for Rev Norman McAuley as he and his wife Joy retire from Greenwell Street in February. Pray for God’s guidance in the vacancy, and for Rosemary and the assistant, as they will take on added pastoral responsibility.
  • Irvinestown, Pettigo and Tempo | Pray that the Lord would help the church to increasingly be those true worshippers the Father seeks. Pray that they would not grow weary of seeking him wholeheartedly despite inner and outer hindrances.

Wednesday 7 February

  • Gary and Mary Reid, global mission workers, Kenya | Pray for the families who have received Maasai and Swahili Bibles, that God’s Word will not only be read, listened to and understood, but will also bear fruit for God’s glory and the extension of his Kingdom. Pray that many would come to believe in and grow in their knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • United Bible Training Centre, Pakistan (UBTC) | Pray that the Principal, Salma Andrew, and the UBTC Board would know God’s guidance and provision as they work to meet present needs & plan for the future of the Training Centre.

Thursday 8 February

  • Tori McClelland, community outreach worker, Movilla | Pray for Tori as she serves the church and local community, that she would show the love of Christ to those with whom she interacts.
  • Lisbellaw, Lisnaskea, Maguiresbridge and Newtownbutler | Pray for wisdom and seeking the Lord’s will as these congregations move forward with the Church and Community Transformation programme. Pray that the Lord will use the congregation for the sharing of the gospel, the building of his Kingdom, and the glory of his name.

Friday 9 February

  • Homelessness | Pray that God will watch over those who tonight will sleep on the streets. Pray for those who work among the homeless, giving them food and shelter and assisting with health problems. Remember those suffering from mental health problems and those who are malnourished, that they will receive the relevant help. Enable us to be filled with compassion toward homeless people and to find ways to help meet their needs.
  • Policing and Crime | Give thanks for the work being done by the PSNI and An Garda Siochána to tackle criminality and protect local communities. Pray for breakthroughs that will bring criminals to justice, and for protection as they put themselves in danger.

Saturday 10 February

  • General Council | Pray for the General Council’s Decision Making and Dissent Task Group as it seeks to finalise the outstanding aspects of its remit. Pray for the convener, Very Rev Dr Noble McNeely, as the group completes its work after several years of meeting.
  • Training in Ministry | Around the time that voting takes place for the Moderator of the Assembly, the moderator of each presbytery also changes. Presbytery moderators chair meetings, lead services and help pastor ministers. A training day for new presbytery moderators took place on Thursday 8 February. Pray for the new presbytery moderators and the presbytery clerks they work alongside.
