Sunday 27 March

  • Moderator | As the situation in Ukraine continues, pray that there will be a significant response to the Moderator’s Appeal to enable the various partner relief agencies to bring badly needed supplies to the people still in Ukraine and the millions of displaced people who have fled to neighbouring countries.
  • Worship: Expressing our praise | As we worship today ask God to help us to do so with hearts grateful and thankful for all that he is to us and does for us.

Monday 28 March

  • Ukraine | Pray for protection for people in Ukraine and an immediate end to the war. Pray for the millions displaced in the country & those who have fled Ukraine, that they will find safety, shelter, food, clean water and medical assistance. Pray for the ongoing work of Christian Aid, Tearfund and Hungarian Reformed Church Aid.
  • Naomi Keefe (global mission worker, Brazil) | Pray for Naomi as she leads various training sessions and as she produces Bible study material for the Good News Club children and teenagers. Pray too for the street evangelism events planned for Easter.

Tuesday 29 March

  • International Meeting Points (Belfast) | Pray for all who come seeking advice, help or support from the Meeting Points in North and South Belfast. Pray that many of them will come to know and love the Lord. Pray too for the staff, including Shirley McGonigle – a new member of the team in North Belfast as she settles into her new role.
  • Christ Church, Limerick | Pray for God’s blessing on Rev Stephen Hancock and the United Presbyterian and Methodist congregation of Limerick as they continue to worship God and share God’s love with others in the city.

Wednesday 30 March

  • Derek & Jane French (global mission workers, Spain) | Pray for Easter services and events at Bilbao International Church (BIC) and Sarriko (local Spanish church) and for the opportunities that these special events and services bring to share the gospel with others.
  • South Sudan | Pray for reconciliation within the leadership of the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan. Pray for the church’s work & witness, especially amongst those dependent on food aid. Pray for peace & political progress.

Thursday 31 March

  • Paula Burrows (deaconess in Ballygrainey, Co Down) | Pray for Paula as she continues to serve God in Ballygrainey. Pray that the church family will continue to grow in their love of God and their love of one another.
  • Lisbellaw, Lisnaskea, Maguiresbridge & Newtownbutler (Co Fermanagh) | Give thanks to God for his faithfulness, patience & work of his Spirit. Pray that all who know and love Christ will be continually transformed to be more like him, and those outside of Christ would be drawn to him in repentance and in saving faith.

Friday 1 April

  • Social Witness | Pray for the residents and staff in our Older People Services. As life returns to some sort of normal and the seasons change, pray that the residents will enjoy time together participating in spring activities, visits from family, as well as days out. Give thanks for our dedicated staff teams, especially Activity Coordinators.
  • Freight Transport | Give thanks for those who bring goods to the island of Ireland via sea, road and air transport. Pray for their safe transit, and that they would be able to deal with any additional pressures and last-minute changes to plans. Pray too for those who feel lonely when they are away from home, that they would have opportunities to encounter the peace and comfort of Jesus.

Saturday 2 April

  • General Council | Pray for the Support Services Committee as it meets on 5 April. Remember its convener, Mr David Thomson & the Chair, the Very Rev Dr Noble McNeely. The Committee oversees the work of many of the support departments in Assembly Buildings, as well as having an overview of the General Assembly’s finances.
  • Training in Ministry | Pray for PCI Conciliators at their training session this morning. They are trained to help people and groups work towards understanding and resolution in difficult situations, as well as leading courses on understanding conflict, healthy decision making, living with difference and managing change.
