Sunday 26 March

  • Moderator | Pray for the Moderator as he visits some of our Forces chaplains based in England during this in-coming week. Pray that he might be an encouragement to the chaplains & the service personnel he will be meeting.
  • Worship: With Easter in sight | Ask that God would help us find fresh hope and joy in him as we worship in the run up to another Easter time.

Monday 27 March

  • Naomi Leremore (global mission worker, Kenya) | Pray for Naomi currently on home assignment and engaged in deputation. Remember especially her husband Thomas, and sons, Aaron and Silas, as they remain in Kenya.
  • Malawi, CCAP Blantyre Synod | Pray for the Synod’s ongoing emergency response aiming to reach up to 25,000 households in urgent need of food, shelter and warm clothing in the aftermath of Cyclone Freddy.

Tuesday 28 March

  • Rev Cheryl Meban, chaplain at Ulster University in Jordanstown and Belfast | Give thanks that chaplaincy lunches are well attended and for the privilege of being amongst students. Pray for those struggling financially, emotionally and spiritually. Pray for wisdom and provision to address all the requests for assistance.
  • Bellasis, Cavan, Drumkeeran and Killeshandra | Pray for Rev Jean Mackarel as she serves these congregations; that the Lord would equip and guide her to respond to the needs she comes across. Pray that those in the congregations would know the Lord’s comforting presence.

Wednesday 29 March

  • Derek and Jane French (global mission workers, Spain) | Pray for a recently launched midweek Bible study meeting in a local café, that the gospel would be heard through seeking biblical perspective on every day issues.
  • The Student Christian Organisation of Malawi (SCOM) | Pray for Ellen Napala (General Secretary), the management board and staff workers seeking to establish branches of SCOM in educational institutions throughout Malawi.

Thursday 30 March

  • Keith Preston, Irish mission worker in the International Meeting Point | Pray for Keith as he oversees the work at the International Meeting Point locations in North and South Belfast, that the Lord will give him wisdom and discernment as he carries out his role.
  • Bray & Blackrock | Give thanks to God for all his goodness & faithfulness to the congregations. Pray that God would continue to grow our love for him and each other, and that he would help us as we seek to share Jesus with others.

Friday 31 March

  • Social Witness | Dermot Parsons is director and secretary to the Council for Social Witness, having overall responsibility for the professional services and coordination of the Council. Give thanks for his commitment to the provision of a high standard of social care on behalf of our Church. Pray for Dermot and the senior management team in Assembly Buildings, giving thanks for the management team’s weekly prayer time set aside to seek God’s will in all they endeavour to carry out on behalf of the Church and our service users.
  • Sport | Give thanks for the many Christian people who are involved in sport at all levels as athletes, team members, coaches, referees, support staff, or facilitating children’s and youth teams. Pray that those involved would have opportunities to share the gospel in both word and deed.

Saturday 1 April

  • General Council | Pray for congregations across our Church who will be meeting tomorrow – Palm Sunday – and some at special meetings during the incoming week. Pray that as our churches focus on Jesus’ death on the cross for us, that this might be a source of thanksgiving amongst our people and an opportunity for evangelism.
  • Training in Ministry | Final interviews for ministry applicants take place on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 April, with five applicants being interviewed. Pray for applicants and interview panel members, that they will have wisdom and discernment from God, to know his will for each applicant.
