Sunday 26 June

  • Moderator | As the decisions taken at the General Assembly are prepared for implementation, pray for the Assembly councils and commissions, including their conveners and secretaries, who will begin planning for the next phase of work into the autumn and winter. Pray for godly and wise deliberations.
  • Worship in the family of God | How good & pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! Psalm 133:1. Give thanks that the local church is one of the few remaining places in society in which people of different ages, backgrounds and perspectives come together as one and ask that this oneness in Christ may find expression in your worship today.

Monday 27 June

  • Ukraine | Pray for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the war. Pray for all directly affected – especially those grieving, the injured and the millions living in constant fear for themselves and / or their loved ones. Pray too for the Christian community in Ukraine as they continue to worship God and pray for their country.
  • Refugees | Pray for those who have fled conflict in Ukraine and in others parts of the world. Pray they will find safety and receive the humanitarian and medical assistance they need, both now and in the months ahead. Pray for all trying to get aid to those in need including Christian Aid, Tearfund and Hungarian Reformed Church Aid.

Tuesday 28 June

  • Forces chaplains | The work of our forces chaplains requires that they be away from home and absent from their families for long periods of time. Pray that chaplains and their families will know how sufficient the grace of God is for such times of separation.
  • Forces chaplains | Pray for those who serve as reserve chaplains as they balance their extra duties with the demands of ongoing congregational life. Some Presbyterian ministers give up valuable time to serve as cadet chaplains. Pray that the Lord will bless them at cadet camps this summer.

Wednesday 29 June

  • Volker and Jinhyeog Glissmann (global mission workers, Southern Africa) | Give thanks for the students who completed the pilot of Theological Education by Extension Malawi’s new ‘Knowing the Spirit’ course, and pray for the course writers as they finalise the course and make it available more widely.
  • James and Heather Cochrane (global mission workers, Portugal) | Pray for plans for the summer in the Comunidade Pedras Vivas church plant in Porto, especially that there will be an opportunity to get the young people together over the summer months.

Thursday 30 June

  • Carndonagh, Greenbank, Malin and Moville (Co Donegal) | Pray that the people of the four churches and the surrounding community will come to see Jesus more clearly, love him more deeply and follow him more closely. Pray for the summer holiday Bible club and the team from Newmills helping to lead it.

Friday 1 July

  • Social Witness | The Specialist Services Committee oversees the work of Carlisle House, Thompson House and Gray’s Court – facilities which offer care and services to those with addictions, past offending behaviour and who require short/mid-term supported housing. Give thanks for the service the staff at each facility offer. Pray also for wisdom for their respective team leaders, David Cuthbert, David Farrow and Frances Craig.
  • School holidays | Pray for those who find the school holiday period challenging due to complexities in home life, financial uncertainty, or missing the routine and structure that term time brings. Pray that families would be able to access appropriate support, and that we would have eyes to see those whom we can draw alongside at these times.
