Sunday 24 March

  • Moderator | The Moderator will be in Crossroads in Co Donegal today. Give thanks that “Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” (1 Peter 3:18) and rejoice in the truth of our salvation in Christ Jesus.
  • Worship: Palm Sunday | Ask that God would help us give voice to our worship of Jesus the humble servant King from hearts that delight in his love.

Monday 25 March

  • Diane Cusick, global mission worker, Zambia | Pray for Diane as she comes to terms with needing some further medical attention. Pray that timely and effective treatment would be available & that she will know God’s peace during this time.
  • Church of Central Africa Presbyterian, Malawi (CCAP Malawi) | Pray for the Church as it seeks to respond to the growing needs of the people of Malawi as they struggle with a rate of inflation in excess of 30%, a very high cost of living and exchange rate instability.

Tuesday 26 March

  • Clones, Stonebridge, Ballyhobridge and Newbliss | Pray for the congregations as they meet together for worship and fellowship. Pray that they would be built up in the love and knowledge of the Lord Jesus and equipped to serve him where he has placed them.
  • Church planting | Give thanks that several congregations and presbyteries, north and south, are identifying new opportunities for church planting. Pray that the Holy Spirit would draw mature believers to serve in these places as part of a planting team.

Wednesday 27 March

  • St Petersburg University, Russia | Pray for the staff and students of the university based in different locations around Russia, for their commitment, protection and growth. Pray for evangelical churches around the country, for their unity, collaboration, witness and renewed vision for future ministry.
  • Evangelical Christian Church of Timor (GMIT) | Pray for the Evangelical Christian Church of Timor and its recent leadership transition. Pray for the new Moderator, Rev Samuel Pandie and the new Secretary, Rev Lay Wenyi, as they adjust to their leadership positions.

Thursday 28 March

  • Mark Annett, community outreach worker, First Rathfriland | Pray for Mark serving in First Rathfriland Presbyterian Church, as he seeks to communicate the good news of Jesus to those in the congregation and in the surrounding community.
  • Wexford | Give thanks for developments in the recruitment process for the ministry role in church re-development in Wexford. Pray for guidance for all those involved in the process and ask that God would identify and prepare the right person to take this work forward in the coming months, all with the ultimate aim of re-establishing a Presbyterian congregation in the south-east corner of Ireland.

Friday 29 March

  • Care Staff | Pray for both residents and staff within our service. Pray that the residents will feel at home and enjoy living in our residential and nursing homes. Remember the activity coordinators as they arrange summer activities for the residents.
  • Public Square | Pray for those who are living in poverty and those who are homeless. Thank you, Lord, for the work of charities such as Christians Against Poverty (CAP), please Lord help anyone who is struggling with poverty and homelessness to find the support they need.

Saturday 30 March

  • General Council | Pray for congregations across the island as they meet to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. Pray that the focus on the hope of the gospel might be both encouraging to believers and attractive to those who have not yet come to faith.
  • Training in Ministry | Pray for ministers from other churches who are in the process of transferring to become eligible for a call to a PCI congregation: Mariann Gilicze (Hungary) – Assistant in Gilnahirk; Elsye McCroskery (Indonesia) – Assistant in Windsor; Stephen Moore and Graham Shearer, both lecturers in Union College.
