  • Moderator | ‘God puts our tears in his bottle’. Whose suffering and sorrow should we bring to him in prayer today? Let’s do that.
  • Worship: Expressing our praise | As we worship today ask God to help us to do so with hearts grateful and thankful for all that he is to us and does for us.

Monday 24 April

  • James and Heather Cochrane (global mission workers, Portugal) | Pray for James and Heather as they work towards handing over responsibilities at CPV, for those taking up leadership and for continuity of missional vision.
  • Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary | Pray for the President, Dr Imad Shehadeh, for the updating of the Seminary’s educational software and the ongoing provision of student scholarships.

Tuesday 25 April

  • Rev Graham Stockdale, lead chaplain in HMP Maghaberry | Pray for Graham as he coordinates chaplaincy in the prison and seeks to serve and share the love of Jesus with prisoners, their families and the staff in the prison.
  • Donegal and Stranorlar | Pray for Rev Stephen Richmond and the congregations as they witness to the surrounding community of the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ through their words and deeds.

Wednesday 26 April

  • Volker and Jinhyeog Glissmann (global mission workers, South Africa) | The Glissmanns ask that we continue praying for the many victims of Cyclone Freddy and for the Malawian government working to restore services.
  • Pakistan | Pray for Salma Andrew, Principal of the United Bible Training Centre (UBTC) in Gujranwala and for UBTC’s discipling and training programmes preparing Christian women for service in the church.

Thursday 27 April

  • Michaela Tuccillo, community outreach worker in Abbey, Monkstown | Pray for Michaela as she seeks to make contact with those in the community with little connection to a church. Pray also for her preparation as she leads a weekly Bible study on the gospel of Mark.
  • Drogheda | Pray for the upcoming church weekend that will take place on 13-14 May; that there will be fun and fellowship and that this time will facilitate good teaching, conversations and deeper relationships in the congregation.

Friday 28 April

  • Willow Brook | Willow Brook provides supported housing for nine tenants with a learning disability. Pray for Liz Wilson, manager, and Karen McKay, clerical officer. Give thanks for the staff team and the work they do with the tenants. Pray that tenants will feel encouraged to live as independently as possible with the help and care of staff and will enjoy living in a Christian environment.
  • Press & Media | Pray for the journalists who bring us the news each day, as well as those who provide support behind the scenes. Pray that they would be able to discern truth, highlight injustice, and provide a voice for the voiceless.

Saturday 29 April

  • General Council | Pray for the Clerk as he represents our Church at the World Council of Reformed Churches (European Council) – meeting next week in Thessaloniki. Pray that this might be an encouraging meeting, particularly for our partner churches working in difficult and challenging situations in Eastern Europe.
  • Training in Ministry | Third year ministry students are due to have what’s known as an “Exit Interview”. The student, a member of college staff and a member of presbytery meet to review the student’s training. When satisfactorily completed, the student is licensed by presbytery, usually in June. Give thanks for these students and pray for them as they reach the end of their college training.
