Let’s Pray: Sun 20 November – Sat 26 November 2022 – First Presbyterian Church, Donaghadee

Moderator | Pray for the Moderator as he attends a meeting of the Church Leaders Group (Ireland) this coming Friday. Pray for him as he attends other important engagements during the coming week.
Worship that empowers | You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely. Psalm 59:17. Ask that as we worship today God would empower us with his strength for current challenges we face.

St Petersburg Christian University | Give thanks for the new Masters course that commenced in early November. Please pray for all involved in its delivery and interpretation.
Hungarian Reformed Church | Pray for Bishop Sándor Zán-Fábián, the Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Church in Transcarpathia (Ukraine), in his support of local ministers who work with so many displaced by the war.

Rev Lesley Ann Wilson (chaplain in Woodlands Juvenile Justice Centre) | Pray for Lesley Ann and the opportunities she has to get to know young people in Woodlands and to pray and share Bible stories with them.
Cootehill, Drum and Kilmount | Give thanks for the week of meetings participating in the “What’s the story?” initiative at the end of October. Pray for the Christianity Explored course running as a follow up and that through the opening up of God’s Word at these meetings some would come to Christ.

Gary & Mary Reid (global mission workers, Kenya) | Give thanks and pray for the local evangelists and worship leaders who lead, teach, preach and are involved with primary and secondary schools and the wider community.
The Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) | Pray for Rt. Rev. Patrick Thegu Mutahi, Moderator, along with his leadership team, as they seek to fulfil PCEA’s vision of equipping God’s people for effective service.

Joanne Dunlop, deaconess in Craigavon Area and Antrim Area Hospitals | Pray for increased opportunities to build relationships with hospital staff & provide them with support & encouragement. Pray that Joanne would live each day for Christ & always minister to others out of the place of resting in the Lord and hearing his voice.
Cahir and Fermoy | Pray for the congregations as they meet for worship each week and seek to share the love and good news of Jesus with those they encounter.

Social Witness | Staffing is one of the most important factors in the delivery of high-quality care throughout our residential and nursing homes. Pray for recruitment days coming up in both Corkey House and Sunnyside House. Pray that vacant posts in these services will be filled with suitably committed staff. Give thanks for staff teams right across Social Witness who faithfully carry out their jobs. Pray that our residents may see the love of Christ through such care.
Financial pressures | Give thanks for the work of organisations like Christians Against Poverty, Trussell Trust and Storehouse that support those facing financial hardship. Pray that those who are struggling financially would be able to receive the support they need, and that steps would be taken to address the structural systems which perpetuate poverty.

General Council | Pray for the General Assembly Business Committee as it meets next week to discuss ongoing planning for the 2023 General Assembly and reviewing certain aspects of Assembly week.
Training in Ministry | Final training for new conciliators is this weekend. Pray for trainees, that they would be prompted and equipped by God to serve in this way. The Conciliation Service has an increased number of cases. Thank God that it is being used, and ask him to give wisdom to conciliators, and to work reconciliation in the hearts of those involved.
