Sunday 16 April

  • Moderator | ‘Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep’. Pray that we might be like the hope filled disciples – emboldened post-resurrection – with a stronger faith and gentler hearts.
  • Worship: After Easter | Ask that as we worship in the afterglow of Easter we would be inspired and equipped to walk in the light, life and liberty of the gospel.

Monday 17 April

  • Steve and Rosie Kennedy (global mission workers, Romania) | Give thanks for the Kennedys’ work with international students. Pray that a suitable meeting place can be identified and regular meetings established.
  • Hungarian Reformed Church (HRC) | Pray for HRC’s ministries seeking to share the hope of the gospel with Roma communities who are facing discrimination on a daily basis.

Tuesday 18 April

  • Sharon Heron, deaconess at International Meeting Point | As the team at IMP walk alongside very broken lives please pray for strength for them to act with wisdom and bring support and encouragement into troubled hearts. Pray also for continued opportunities to share Jesus Christ as the way to salvation.
  • Corboy and Mullingar | Pray for Corboy as they elect leaders. Corboy congregation hasn’t had their own elders for decades. Give thanks to the Lord for his faithfulness. Pray for more regularity in attendance to Sunday services and Bible studies in Mullingar.

Wednesday 19 April

  • Stephen and Angelina Cowan (global mission workers, Kenya) | Give thanks for opportunities to engage with school children and pray that the gospel story would have a long-lasting impact on young lives.
  • Refugees / Aid agencies | Pray for the Presbyterian Church of Myanmar (PCM) as they seek to feed and shelter hundreds of people internally displaced by fighting in villages neighbouring PCM’s headquarters at Tahan.

Thursday 20 April

  • Michelle Stewart, community outreach worker in Cloughey | Pray for strengthening of relationships with the local community, particularly the Community Association. Pray also for the Lord’s leading and guiding regarding future plans.
  • Donabate | Give thanks for the congregation’s home groups and their leaders. Pray that the Lord would lead the congregation as they seek to grow deeper as disciples of Jesus.

Friday 21 April

  • Social Witness | Pray for Rev David Brice, convener of the Council for Social Witness. Give thanks for his drive and faithfulness to the Council and the commitment he gives to the social witness of our Church. Remember also the committee conveners and members, for vision as they make decisions regarding the work of the Council.
  • Westminster | The Moderator is due to travel to Westminster next week to visit the Houses of Parliament and hold a number of meetings. Pray that he will be able to display gracious gospel confidence in all his interactions, and that this would be a good opportunity to build relationships.

Saturday 22 April

  • General Council | Pray for the Arrangements Panel and its convener, Rev Mervyn Burnside, as they continue to make practical arrangements for the June 2023 Assembly. Pray for the large team of people who work hard behind the scenes in covering the logistical aspects of the Assembly and whose work enables the Assembly to function.
  • Training in Ministry | David Leach continues in his role as Professor of Ministry – teaching, hearing students preach, helping to arrange placements, supporting supervising ministers, along with much organisation and administration. Pray for him as he seeks to fulfil this demanding role, that he would know the strength and joy of the Lord to sustain him.
