Social Witness | Pray for Dermot Parsons, Director and Secretary to the Council for Social Witness, who has overall responsibility for the professional services and the coordination of the Council as a whole. Give thanks for his commitment to the provision of a high standard of social care on behalf of our church.
Leadership|Pray for Permanent Secretaries and other senior leaders in the Northern Ireland Civil Service as they seek to make decisions against a difficult political backdrop. Pray also for senior officials in the Irish Civil Service as they adjust to the plans and priorities of a new Ministerial team.
Saturday 21 January
General Council | Pray for a special service being held on Sunday afternoon, 22 January at St Anne’s Cathedral to mark 100 years of the Irish Council of Churches of which PCI is a founder member, and for the ICC and its work as it celebrates its centenary throughout the year.
Training in Ministry | The Assignments Panel assigns ministry students to congregations for placements and assistantships – a vital aspect of students’ preparation for ministry, providing valuable opportunities to learn alongside a supervising minister. Pray for the Panel as it meets on 27 January, that the Lord would guide its decisions.
