Sunday 12 March

  • Moderator | Pray for the Moderator during the incoming week as he attends and participates in a number of General Council and committee meetings. Pray that his input might be an encouragement for those who serve the church through their participation in these groups.
  • Worship: Experiencing God’s grace | As we worship today ask God to help us to know his forgiving and sustaining grace, pardoning our sins and providing for all our needs.

Monday 13 March

  • James and Heather Cochrane (global mission workers, Portugal) | Pray for CPV’s newly ordained elders and deacons as they take up their new roles, and for the new women’s ministry beginning in March.
  • Council for Global Mission | Pray that the Council for Global Mission would know God’s presence and guidance at its meeting on 15 March and as it takes forward PCI’s global mission engagement.

Tuesday 14 March

  • Healthcare chaplaincy team, Altnagelvin Hospital | Pray for new members of the chaplaincy team shortly taking up positions in several areas in the Western Trust. In the midst of current pressures, pray for effective chaplaincy support of patients, families and staff in the delivery of holistic care.
  • Athy and Carlow | Pray for Rev Stephen Rea and the congregations as they gather to praise and worship each Sunday, that they will know the transforming and sustaining presence of the Lord Jesus and will be equipped to serve him in their lives.

Wednesday 15 March

  • Volker and Jinhyeog Glissmann (global mission workers, Malawi & South Africa) | Pray for Volker as he works on the AATEEA Book Project, especially in conducting interviews with the leadership of African TEE programmes.
  • The Christian Church of Sumba, Indonesia (GKS) | Pray for Rev Marlin Lomi, Moderator, and all in leadership as they seek to develop the ministry and mission of GKS.

Thursday 16 March

  • Josh McCance, community outreach worker in Balbriggan | Give thanks to God for sustaining three years of weekly Sunday services. Pray for the Ukrainian families who have joined, that they will be encouraged and helped to learn English. Pray for the new home groups, that there would be continuing enthusiasm for God’s Word.
  • Ballina, Ballymote and Killala | Give thanks for members of session and the congregations who work hard to maintain ministry during the vacancy. Pray for wisdom and encouragement for them as they serve in this way.

Friday 17 March

  • Stress | In the UK alone approximately 5 million people are stressed, with it manifesting itself in a variety of ways. Pray for those suffering from the effects of stress. Pray for staff working within our Services, often working under pressure, and give thanks for the dedication staff show.
  • Public Affairs | The Council for Public Affairs was due to meet yesterday, 16 March. Pray for the work of the Council and its convener Rev Daniel Kane as it supports PCI to be a graciously confident gospel presence in the public square.

Saturday 18 March

  • General Council | Pray for the meeting of the General Council of our church being held this coming Wednesday. Pray for wisdom and discernment at this meeting and the April meeting as it receives reports from a multitude of committees, panels and task groups.
  • Training in Ministry | Pray for ministers from other churches who are in the process of transferring to become eligible for a call to a PCI congregation: Mariann Gilicze (Hungary) – assistant in Gilnahirk; Elsye McCroskery (Indonesia) – assistant in Windsor; Mark Haugh, originally from Northern Ireland – assistant in Vinecash.
