Sunday 11 February

  • Moderator | The Moderator concludes his tour of Templepatrick Presbytery today. Give thanks for every opportunity to speak of the Lord Jesus and pray for the congregations of the Presbytery.
  • Worship: Declaring God’s praise | “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9. Ask God for a spirit of praise among his people in worship today.

Monday 12 February

  • St Petersburg Christian University, Russia | Pray for God’s provision for the ministry that has continued to flow through the University to the protestant churches and community in Russia.
  • Faculté Jean Calvin (FJC), France | Pray for the FJC leadership as they plan and host a conference this month discussing doctrinal discords. Pray that all participants would know the Lord’s leading as they apply what they learn to their own circumstances.

Tuesday 13 February

  • Kenny Hanna, rural chaplain | Pray for God to be at work through the monthly evangelistic Bible studies in Hilltown and Kilcoo, attended by people of all backgrounds. Pray for the rural chaplaincy team as they partner with farm support organisations to visit six livestock markets from late February to early March.
  • Kilkenny | Give thanks to God for a recent very significant weekend of prayer and fasting which many believers bought into. Christians from different parts of the world continue to join the congregation in worship as they move to Ireland for work. Pray that they will become vibrant disciples of Christ and his gospel.

Wednesday 14 February

  • Diane Cusick, global mission worker, Zambia | Give thanks for a successful teachers’ workshop in December. Pray for teachers as they prepare for schools opening and that the cholera epidemic might be contained quickly so that schools can re-open soon.
  • Scripture Union Malawi (SUM) | Pray for Goodson Saulosi, appointed last year as Director of SUM, that he may know God’s encouragement and guidance in his leadership role.

Thursday 15 February

  • Naas | Pray for the Christianity Explored courses running in Naas on Tuesdays and in Newbridge on Thursdays throughout February & March. Pray that those who come along will be impacted by the gospel as it is clearly presented and discussed.
  • Michelle Mullan, community outreach worker, Portstewart | Pray for Michelle as she builds relationships with those in the church and local community. Pray for seeds to be sown as she starts her role.

Friday 16 February

  • Stress | In the UK alone approximately 5 million people are stressed. Stress often manifests itself in many ways; work, finance, family problems, work/life balance, unemployment. Please pray for those suffering from the effects of stress. Pray especially for staff within our Services, often working under pressure. Give thanks for the dedication staff show.
  • Education | Give thanks for all those who care for and educate our children and young people in various roles across all education settings. We pray especially for the reconstitution of Boards of Governors, that the people selected will make a positive and valuable contribution to the school.

Saturday 17 February

  • General Council | Pray for the meeting of the Irish Inter-Church Committee as it meets towards the end of next week. Pray especially for the Moderator, the Clerk and Rev Helen Freeburn as they attend to represent PCI.
  • Training in Ministry | Union College has been publicising its BA in Theology, through a number of open evenings, and by posting videos on TikTok. These have generated tremendous publicity. Give thanks for this, and for the current students in years one and two. Pray that a good number will apply to start this September. Information is on the Union website, and TikTok.
