Sunday 10 March

  • Moderator | The Moderator is finishing the tour of Monaghan Presbytery with visits to the Cavan group and Clontibret Churches. Pray that the visit will have been an encouragement to the ministers and members of the Presbytery. 
  • Worship: Experiencing God’s grace | As we worship today ask God to help us to know his forgiving and sustaining grace, pardoning our sins and providing for all our needs.

Monday 11 March

  • Naomi Keefe, global mission worker, Brazil | Pray for all the planning and preparation of the many events at Easter, that many ‘fish’ would be drawn into the nets to know more about Jesus Christ.
  • Leaders in Training (LITs) | Give thanks that Jean Musavuli, from the Bilingual Christian University of Congo, has just successfully completed his PhD in Biblical Studies at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, supported by a PCI scholarship. Pray for Jean as he returns to the Democratic Republic of Congo to pastor and to teach at the University.

Tuesday 12 March

  • Rev Nigel Craig, university chaplain | Pray for Nigel Craig, PCI university chaplain at Queen’s, Stranmillis and Union Theological College, and Dean of Residence at Derryvolgie Hall. Pray that as he supports students and staff, they would know the love and hope of Christ in their lives. 
  • Tullamore | Pray for the congregation as they record RTÉ’s Easter Sunday TV worship service. Pray that the message of the gospel would go out to the crew, the TV audience and others who watch the service online. Pray for the congregation as they deal with the effects of a recent break-in at the Church.

Wednesday 13 March

  • Derek and Jane French, global mission workers, Spain | Pray that the message of the cross would be proclaimed clearly during the special events in the church over Easter, and that the power of the resurrection would change people’s hearts. Remember the leadership in Sarriko and Bilbao International Church (BIC) as they make decisions in how to move both churches forward for God’s Kingdom.  
  • Church of North India (CNI) | Give thanks for the ordination of new ministers and deacons in the church. Pray for them as they begin their ministries, that God would guide and lead them.

Thursday 14 March

  • Arklow | Pray for the congregation as they meet together to worship, that they would know the Lord’s love. Pray that they would be a light to those they witness to in their local community.
  • Jason Sime, community outreach worker, Alexandra | Give thanks for the congregation’s recent ‘All Together’ service which helped the Church reach new people. Pray for their upcoming Easter community prayer walk with local churches and the upcoming Messy Church after Easter. Pray that through these the congregation can be a witness in their community and share the love of Jesus.

Friday 15 March

  • Specialist Services Committee | The Specialist Services Committee oversees the work of Carlisle House, Thompson House and Gray’s Court. These facilities offer care and service to those with addictions, past offending behaviour and who require short or mid-term supported housing. Give thanks to God for the high level of service the staff at each facility offer. Pray also for wisdom for their respective team leaders, David Cuthbert, David Farrow and Francis Craig.
  • Public Square | Pray for government, for the Oireachtas, Stormont and Westminster, give thanks for the restoration of the Stormont Assembly and give thanks for all the Christian politicians who are salt and light in government.

Saturday 16 March

  • General Council | Pray for the meeting of the General Council being held during the incoming week. Pray for discernment as members deal with the significant agenda items, remembering especially the General Council convener, Very Rev Dr David Bruce and its secretary, the Clerk.
  • Training in Ministry | A ‘Ministry Taster Day’ is being held in Union College today, for people who want to find out more about ordained ministry. Pray for Prof David Leach, and other staff and students who will take part, and pray that the Lord will speak to people to call them to serve him in ordained ministry.
