Sunday 10 April

  • Moderator | Give thanks for the many services running during this week as we prepare to celebrate Easter. Pray that there might be time to pause, reflect and listen to God speaking to us and to continue to hold in prayer those for whom Easter will not be the usual celebratory season – taking time to remember the people of Ukraine.
  • Worship: Palm Sunday | Ask that God would help us give voice to our worship of Jesus the humble servant King from hearts that delight in his love.

Monday 11 April

  • Ukraine | Pray for peace. Pray for the protection of those living in Ukraine and for sufficient humanitarian aid to get through to those in need. Pray for Christians in Ukraine, that they will be assured the Lord continues to be with them in these difficult days and that they will use opportunities share their faith with others.
  • Russia | Pray for St Petersburg Christian University – one of PCI’s global mission partners in training people for Christian ministry and mission. Pray for Christians across Russia during these difficult times.

Tuesday 12 April

  • Mark Annett, community outreach worker, First Rathfriland | Give thanks for the volunteers who have helped organisations stay open over the past few months. Pray for the planning of the summer outreach and that many people will come and hear the gospel message.
  • St Columba’s (Lisburn) | Pray for the leaders and members as they await the outcome of a recent Presbytery consultation which may shape and support ministry in the congregation. Pray for Easter services and the congregation’s outreach into Lisburn; pray too for an election of elders before the summer.

Wednesday 13 April

  • Stephen & Angelina Cowan (global mission workers, Kenya) | Pray for the youth camps which are taking place in Tuum from 10 to 20 April, now that all Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Adult illiteracy in the area is high, pray that stimulating educational packages designed for mobile phones will help many people become literate.
  • India | Pray for the Church of North India, that God’s love will shine through its leaders and members, and that many more people across the country will believe in the Lord and be saved.

Thursday 14 April

  • Rachel Cubitt (deaconess in Whiteabbey) | Give thanks for Kids & Co (mums & tots) and pray for the parents who attended the recent ‘Hope Explored’ course and that they will respond to the hope of the gospel. Give thanks for Cathy (trainee deaconess) – pray for her as she balances study with serving in Whiteabbey.
  • Sligo | Pray for the life and witness of Sligo congregation, and for Rev David Clark and the kirk session as they lead the congregation.

Friday 16 April

  • Learning Disability | Pray for families caring for children or adults with a learning disability with all the demands & challenges this brings into the home.  Give thanks for special schools, adult centres, training units & supported employment schemes provided by government bodies & learning disability charities. Pray for teachers, learning support assistants & school workers, care workers and everyone involved in the provision of these kinds of services. 
  • Media & journalists | Pray for everyone involved in bringing us the news each day, especially those reporting from places of conflict and danger. Pray that they would be able to discern truth, highlight injustice, and provide a voice for the voiceless.

Saturday 16 April

  • General Council | Like many people, staff who work in Assembly Buildings will be on leave on Monday and Tuesday of the incoming week. Pray for all staff who work in Assembly Buildings, that this may be a time of refreshment after a busy & stressful period. Remember also staff who will be on call over the holiday period.
  • Training in Ministry | Ministry students have reached the end of a very busy semester. Pray for them and their families that they will have opportunity for refreshment over the Easter break, with a clear focus on the joy and hope of our Lord’s resurrection.
